28 hours until daddy is back home!!
We all miss you. Ashley screams 'ba baaa!' Whenever she sees me on my phone now.

Too early

Megan woke up way too early. 6:15am and insisted on reading her books. Sigh.
Ashley woke up 7:15am. Much better.

Had peanut butter bagel and laughing cow cheese bagel. Also blackberries for Ashley and strawberries for Megan. Yum!

Picture was from pickup last night. I'm never the last one there but always end up being the last one to leave....

Rainy day

Luckily all the ice/slush/snow melted before pickup. Had bbq pork bun and cauliflower soup for dinner. Yum!

Good morning sunshine!

Does someone look tired? After 3 bottles of milk / water all before 8pm, Ashley slept until past 7:30am this morning. She was soaking wet from all the pee again! Yikes!

Breakfast of champions. Oatmeal with egg. Got the kids to school by 8:30 this morning before it started snowing...

Two poops within 3 hours

Rough night

Ashley was coughing a lot last night. She wasn't complaining until I kept going into the room to check on her. Luckily she was asleep by 11 or so. Put the humidifier in her room seems to help. Plus lots of water in her bottle.

She woke everyone early at 6:40am. Got some dancing and playing done before eating oatmeal for breakfast. Then a really good poop on her potty before school. Got the kids in class by 8:30am. Have fun sweetie!

Uh oh

Ashley might have a cold. Or just a lot of post nasal drip :(. She didn't really want dinner tonight. Insisted on eating only puffs.

Wrong side of the bed

Ashley woke up on the wrong side of the crib this morning. Tantrum galore. I took her toothbrush away over 10 minutes ago. Already changed her, helped Megan and Ashley was still going. Poor chickadee.

She slept ok, but was coughing a lot. Woke up at midnight so I put her sleeping pouch on, changed her into her nighttime diaper and gave her some water. Hope she's not getting sick again! Coughing, really runny nose.

She enjoyed breakfast - whole wheat bagel with peanut butter and blackberries.

Crazy weekend - day 2 (part 2)

Ashley was super clingy to mommy today. And also such a rascal, running off and climbing up the stairs constantly. She even fell down once from 7 steps up but that didn't stop her from going again, and again...

Birthday party was Star Wars theme so what fun it was to celebrate with light sabers. Mommy got home with the kids by 6:30. Both kids fell asleep in the car on the way home. Another fun day!  Forgot to mention, Ashley ate lip balm today. Yuck!!

Daddy misses you both

My dear daughters, 

There's a saying, "you're the apple of my eye." 

I never understood that before, but I miss you two oh so much. I see you two playing together, and daddy's heart melts.  You two are absolutely adorable together. 

I can't imagine what it'll be like when baby brother arrives. I hope and pray you will love him as much as you do each other. Please take care of mommy for me as she gets tired more easily. 

I love you, and miss you, and I cherish the kisses you send over FaceTime.

Crazy weekend - day 2 (part 1)

Ashley woke everyone up at 7. We had yogurt at home, then went out to the bakery for Chinese buns. Sat there for 30 minutes having a second breakfast. Ashley was a good girl and she didn't fall off the chair.

Then off the the Macks for Cody Biu gar's birthday party. Fun times again. Lunch and then napping in Cody Biu Jie's room. Napped for an hour. Also, successful poopy in the potty after too.

Crazy weekend - day 1 (part 3)

At home, kids were happy but not really listening. Tried some quiet time but Ashley wasn't having it. 

We face timed with daddy and he got lots of love from Megan and Ashley. Ashley was so happy to see daddy - waving, hi dada, blowing kisses, kissing mommy's phone (daddy was on it). She was also super upset when daddy hung up. Megan tried to soothe her the best she could. Megan asked mui mui to lie on her lap like a baby and she wanted to rock a bye baby. Megan also said she has a baby in her tummy so have to be careful. 

Early dinner and early sleep. Kids in bed before 6:45pm. Mommy in bed before 7pm. Time for rest! Hopefully it will be a somewhat silent night. Ashley just cried for 5 min at 8:30pm. Megan just cried at 9:30pm for a few seconds. Both didn't need mommy to get up to go check. Phew!

Crazy weekend - day 1 (part 2)

Next came the birthday party at kids playtown for Emily's third birthday. That meant a 45 minute drive to sauga. The good thing - both kids napped.  Playing with cars and plasma cars are so much fun!

 

Thanks auntie Vicky and uncle Steve for the fun time. The totoro toys from Japan are so cute!  Ashley had a bit of a tantrum - granted - mommy wouldn't let her climb the ladder anymore b/c it was almost time to go. Plus Ashley was way past due for a nap and bottle of milk.  I'm sure the icing from the cupcake that Ashley got her fingers into (and then fingers into the mouth) contributed. No napping, but much happier after her milk on the car ride home. 

Crazy weekend - day 1 (part 1)

Saturday started out fairly normal other than Ashley waking up at 6:30am crying.  Tried to give her a bottle so she would sleep another hour but mommy fail.  Crying woke up Megan early too.  Found out Ashley pooped in her diaper.  No wonder! 

We woke up, changed, brushed our teeth, had breakfast at home.  Then mommy said, let's get ready, we are going to auntie Kats house this morning.  Megan helped clean up the floor and press the roomba.  Then they watched it from the couch while mommy packed the bags. 

At auntie Kats and uncle Gabes house, Ashley was busy "colouring". She sat in this chair for a good 10-15 minutes (maybe longer?) playing with all the crayons. 

Chickadees

Megan didn't want to sleep yet. She took Ashley's hand and they walked to her bed hand in hand. Was so cute. Megan insisted Ashley sleep in her bed, but Ashley didn't want to. Ashley wanted her own bed, hence the whiney face.

Pick up time

Ashley was enjoying the good life. Wagon ride, cracker. She was also very happy to see mommy. Excitedly waving hi once she saw me :) I guess she knows it's Friday too!

Sleep training - day 2

Can it be working already?!

1 bottle of milk at bedtime. Just a bit of crying at 1:40am for 5 minutes. Then crying for 10 minutes at 2:30am. No end of the world type of crying yet...

Mui mui had to go poo in the middle of dinner. Of course Ga Jie had to join in as well.

Gremlin

Oh so cute during the day, but don't give her a bottle of milk at night, the gremlin in her comes out.

Non stop End of the world crying, I want my bottle of milk from 2:50am to 3:35am (45 minutes). Let's hope she stays asleep for the rest of the night. Sleep training - day 1. Mommy and daddy can't wake up 4 times a night to give you a full bottle of milk each time. It's about time to really learn how to self soothe to sleep.
